New feature tracks symptoms indicating cardiovascular risk, flags issues early, and enables informed discussions with providers

Symptom tracking prompt in Hello Heart app

MENLO PARK, Calif. – August 14, 2024 – Hello Heart, the digital leader in preventive heart health, today announced the launch of its latest product feature, symptom tracking, which proactively prompts users to record how they're feeling each time they take a blood pressure reading. Symptom tracking leverages advanced analytics to deliver a more personalized and proactive approach to heart health management.

The Hello Heart connected monitor and digital coaching app uses behavioral science and personalized digital coaching to drive lifestyle changes. The app helps users track key heart health metrics – including blood pressure, pulse, cholesterol, activity, and weight – and enables them to better understand and manage their cardiovascular risk over time.

By adding symptom tracking to the app, users can now also record whether they are feeling well or whether they are experiencing symptoms such as dizziness and shortness of breath, potential indicators of serious issues that should be addressed with a physician. Women, in particular, are more likely to experience less typical symptoms of heart attack such as nausea, upper back or shoulder pain, which are integrated into the app to ensure that female-specific indicators are not overlooked. Importantly, the app flags when users may be at elevated cardiovascular risk and refers them to the appropriate care based on clinical guidelines.

Users can monitor symptom tracking alongside their heart health metrics in the Hello Heart app over time. This empowers users to keep consistent, accurate records of their symptoms and to have more confident care discussions with their providers.

“Managing heart health is critical as cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death globally. By being aware of symptoms and understanding their implications, individuals can have more informed and productive discussions with their healthcare providers, potentially catching serious conditions earlier,” said Assaf Ohana, chief product officer, Hello Heart. “The introduction of symptom tracking marks a significant enhancement in our ability to support our users in monitoring and understanding their heart health.”
